When our daughter was born we were dropped into an entirely new world. Her disability, a rare disease, was something we had never heard of, much less knew how to navigate. In many ways we were one of the lucky ones, lucky to have the resources to care for our daughter and lucky to have a network to guide us through the support she needed.

Meeting other families along this journey I realized just how lucky we are. Most parents are alone, under resourced, and given little direction. I believe that no child living with a disability should be without support and no parent should have to do it alone.
